More About Ejame

Meet Giraffe Ejame!

Ejame is a beautiful giraffe living in Faro National Park in Cameroon. She was spotted one afternoon by a hidden camera near the salt licks—a place where animals go to lick natural salts from the ground. At about 8 years old, she’s fully grown, standing 5 meters tall and weighing around 850 kg! Her coat has dark, irregular patches that make her easy to recognize. Ejame loves to snack on leaves, fruits, and flowers from trees like acacias and tamarinds. She spends her time in the open woodlands and shrublands of the park, quietly wandering and browsing for food. She’s part of a rare and special group of giraffes called the Kordofan giraffes, which are found in only a few places in Africa today.
